Epicuriad Phoenix 2015

Epicuriad Logo_City_Change_Web

Join us on January 24th, 2015 at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, as Arizona's top chefs vie for gastronomic glory in the region's fourth annual Epicuriad! This is an event that brings foodies, oenophiles, and craft beer lovers together in a food, wine, and beer pairing competition like no other. Quoted as "The Finest Food/Beer/Wine Pairing Competition This Side of ANYWHERE" by Phoenix New Times blogger Zachary Fowle.

Each of our talented chefs will be given one beer and one wine to pair in their mission to make one spectacular original dish. For each pairing, attendees will vote on whether the beer or the wine pairs better, and a final vote made by you, our generous supporters, to decide which chef paired the best dish overall. This year's event will also include a full dessert buffet, raffle, and live music in an intimate cocktail party setting.

Proceeds from this year's Epicuriad benefit the Beer For Brains Foundation in our quest to find a cure for brain cancer.  Join us for this culinary event and in the fight against brain cancer... Grab your ticket(s) on the events page before they're gone. Go, go, go!!!

Wines:

The main area fine wines and champagne that the chefs are using are very distinctive. Four chefs will be creating their dish with one of these selections. There are more wines and beers coming for the VIP event.

Chateau De Pourcieux, Cotes De Provence Rose 2013

France. This wine has the aroma of a lively fresh fruit salad – berries, banana, delicate herbs, and a touch of spice. The flavors are bright and crisp – more berries and ripe peach. There’s just a hint of tannins.

Aradon Rioja 2013

Spain. A real Rioja with those unmistakable fine soft tannins of Tempranillo that fill the mouth with fleshy dark berry fruit balanced by some more earthy savoury notes.

Ritual Pinot Noir Casablanca Valley

Chile. Ritual Pinot Noir opens up to complex aromas of cherry and boysenberry, mixed with floral notes of violets and lavender. In the glass, the wine has deep ruby red color. The Ritual Pinot Noir is an elegant wine with density and richness. Vibrant flavors of cherry and raspberry soft tannins, fresh acidity and a lingering finish.

Tendrl Et Lombardi Blanc De Noirs Champagne.

France. Firm, juicy acidity finds good balance in this creamy Champagne, framing hints of yellow apple, black raspberry and verbena. A thread of freshly ground spices lingers on the refined finish.
